HOW TO VOTE IN
PRIMARY ELECTION VOTING INFORMATION
Election Day is March 3rd, and Early Voting starts February 18th!
VOTE BY MAIL
In order to vote by mail, you must submit an application for a mail ballot. You can submit your application in person to the Harris County Clerk’s Early Voting Office until the early voting period begins on February 18th. If you choose to mail in your application it must be received via mail no later than Friday, February 21st.
Note that voting by mail is only allowed if:
- You are 65 years or older on Election Day (March 3rd, 2020)
You are away from Harris County on Election Day and during the Early Voting period
You are sick or disabled and unable to vote in person
You are currently in jail, but eligible to vote
Vote by mail ballots must be received (not just postmarked) by 7:00 pm on Election Day (March 3rd) in order to be counted.
You can vote early in-person at select polling locations starting on Tuesday, February 18th, through Friday, February 28th.
You can early vote at in person at *any* early voting location in Harris County, regardless of where you are registered to vote.
VOTE ON ELECTION DAY
NEW THIS YEAR, on March 3rd you can vote at any Election Day polling location, regardless of where in Harris County you are registered.
Click here for a complete list of election day polling locations. All Election Day polling locations will be open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3rd.
If you are in line at a polling place by 7:00 pm on Election Day, you can cast your vote! Be prepared for longer wait times – we’re expecting high turnout as the voters of TX-2 make their voices heard!
Texas law requires everyone voting in person either early or on Election Day to have a photo ID.
Accepted forms of ID are:
- A Texas Driver’s License issued by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (DPS)
A Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
A Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
A Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
A US Military Identification Card containing your photograph
A United States Passport book or card
- A United States Citizenship Certificate containing your photograph
