Asian American Action Fund Endorses Sima Ladjevardian for TX-02
July 13, 2020
HOUSTON, Texas -- Today, TX-02 Democratic nominee Sima Ladjevardian was endorsed by the Asian American Action (AAA) Fund, one of the largest political action committees in the United States for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders running for office. The endorsement is especially important in Texas’ 2nd Congressional district, where AAPI voters comprise more than 7 percent of the electorate.
“As a proud immigrant and Asian American, I am honored to have the AAA Fund standing alongside me in this fight,” Ladjevardian said. “As the first Iranian-American to ever serve in Congress, I will fight to guarantee the high quality, affordable health care that our diverse Houston family so desperately needs. With the support of our ever-growing AAPI community, we’re one step closer to flipping this seat.”
“Sima Ladjevardian is the right congressional candidate for this moment and this community,” AAA Endorsements Co-Chair Irene Natividad said. “She has a long record of bringing people of different creeds and backgrounds together all across Houston, and she will always ensure the safety of her constituents with high quality, affordable health care. That's why the Asian American Action Fund wholeheartedly supports Sima’s candidacy. She will be a welcome addition in the halls of Congress.”
